Shenandoah University has been giving out a MacBook laptop computer and an iPod Touch to all its 430 fresh students. To follow the pattern, there are several other universities who are also making Apple products mandatory to use and handing them out to their students.

Over decades, college students have been very fond of Apple’s sleek products. However, now since the college authorities would themselves be handing out Apple’s products to students, it proves that Apple will have certain importance with college students also. The iPod Touch was given to students so that they can “check in quickly”, as stated by the senior vice president and vice president for academic affairs.
